Neighborhood News- November 14, 2019

It’s beginning to look at lot like… Thanksgiving! And yes, in case you were wondering, it’s too soon to start listening to Christmas songs, too. Before we put up the tinsel and trees and start eating toffee, there’s something exciting you need to know about!

On Wednesday, November 20, our church is hosting a Thanksgiving meal with Kitsap Homes of Compassion, a ministry aimed at ending homelessness in Kitsap County, and operated by our very own Joel and Anne Adamson. We are inviting the house managers and tenants to join us for a feast, and we are hoping you’ll come serve and eat with us!

The meal is about serving the least of these in our community (Matthew 25:35–36), but it is also about sitting together at a table as the family of God, which always includes the outsiders that have no place or people to call their own (James 1:27).

There are a few ways you can get involved with the meal:

  • Setup and cooking
  • Transportation (to and from the meal)
  • Attending the meal
  • Clean-up

You can email me at sdonica@crossroadscma.com to sign-up, or drop by the Connection Point this Sunday. Come join the feast on November 20. You’ll be glad you did!

Best,
Sam Donica
Pastor to Youth and Families
