In just 7 short days, 8 other youth leaders and I will be loading up two 15-passenger vans with 12 high school students to drive 6 hours and 17 minutes and 351 miles across 2 states to spend 4 days… in the middle of nowhere.
That’s right, we are headed to Antelope, OR down a muddy road that dead ends at Washington Family Ranch (there’s no cell service, don’t tell the kids!). That’s a lot of miles and vans and energy and effort and counting, but it’s all for 1 reason, and 1 reason only.
We want to see these students encounter Jesus. We want him to become real to some who have never met him, and more real to any of us who have. We want them to meet the only God the world has ever known and experience just how much love he has for each of them. Why all this? Because of one thing – Jesus!
And if you’re still reading, I’d like to ask you for one thing while I’m at it. Will you pray for us? Pray for safety in our travels and all the regular stuff people pray for. But also pray for Jesus to do something real. Something we can’t miss. Something we won’t soon forget. Something that will bring healing and hope and love that lasts.
