Mission Ecuador 7/13 to 7/22

ECUADOR 2018

Our team of ten departs in the early hours of July 13 from Bremerton for Ecuador.  We will be serving at an Envision site, which is the short term department of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.  Envision has sites around the world.  We will be working with a specific branch of Envision called Inca Link.  You can read more about Envision by clicking the picture link of the little boy with the word Ecuador on it.  As well, you can click the Inca Link logo to be directed to their site.

During our time we will be in the town of Hauticocha at the Instituto Ninawachi.  (If you want to ‘drive the roads via Google’ you can click the image of the institute above to be directed there.)  We will be working on their farm in the mornings and then traveling to local communities to assist the students at the institute who invest in the local communities.   Opportunities will be available for us to run a vacation Bible school, give our testimonies, preach, play soccer and most of all just love people!

Please pray for us as we seek to serve the people well.  We believe God uses available people and we want to be available to Him.  Since we will be in the Amazon jungle, we will be exposed to lots of bug, different food, a language none of us are fluent in and an unfamiliar culture.  So, we ask for God given strength to:

  • Give 110% – to not hold anything back either in work or in relationships
  • Be Here Now – to immerse ourselves in the beautiful Ecuadorian culture
  • Challenge Ourselves – to do the unfamiliar or uncomfortable in the name of Jesus
  • Choose Joy – to see difficulties as God’s gracious love

Thanks for being a part of what God is doing in South America.  Below you will see our tentative schedule.  This is a great way for you to be praying for us specifically throughout the day.  Here are a couple details to help you with this.  First, remember we will be in Latin America and their schedule orients around people not a clock.  As a result all times are fluid.  Second, Ecuador uses Ecuador Time (ECT) which is UTC -5.  As a result they are 2 hours ahead of Washington.  So, when we land it Quito, it will be 8:30pm PST and 10:30pm ECT.  We look forward to telling of the greatness of our God when we return!
